A. Electric cars can be charged at home or public charging points.

Q. What type of connector type is used on a Volvo
A. You can charge your Volvo with a Type 2 connector at home, work or at a public charging point. There is also a CCS connector for rapid charging.

Q. Can I charge my electric car at home?
A. Many electric cars can be charged using a three-pin plug. Owners can also install a home wall box for faster charging.

Q. How long does it take to charge an electric car?
A. Charging times vary depending on the charger type and the car's battery capacity. Using a rapid charger, you can typically charge an electric car to 80% capacity in around 30 minutes, while slower chargers may take several hours for a full charge

Q. Are there enough charging stations for electric Volvos?
A. The availability of charging stations for electric Volvos varies by location, but the charging infrastructure is rapidly expanding. Volvo is also investing in charging networks to ensure owners have access to convenient charging facilities.

Q. Can I charge my electric car at a petrol station?
A. Some petrol stations may have electric vehicle charging points, and more are being added every day. It is recommended to use dedicated electric vehicle charging stations or home charging points for regular charging

Q. Will my electric bill increase if I switch to an electric car?
A. Yes, if you switch from a diesel or petrol car to an electric car and start charging it at home, you will see an increase in your electricity bill. This is because you will be using more energy to charge your EV than you did to fuel your previous car. However, you will also save money on fuel costs since you will no longer need to fill up your tank at the petrol station. Instead, your car's fuel cost will be included in your electricity bill.

Q. Are electric charging stations free?
A. While most charging stations have a set price per kWh, some public charging stations are free. These are often found at locations like supermarkets, where you can charge your car while you shop.

Q. How much does it cost to charge an electric car?
A. Most drivers will charge their electric car overnight, waking up to a full battery every morning. Average domestic electricity rate in the whole of the UK is about 32p per kWh**. Fully charging a 60kWh electric car will cost around £17 (depending on where you live) and give you about 200 miles of range.

* Costs calculated at 32p/kWh based on usable battery is ~54kWh (90%).

** Please note, energy prices vary and can go up and down. To find your current cost per kWh, please check your electricity bill or contact your provider.
