The all-new Volvo EX30 has been crowned Electrifying.com’s Car of the Year for 2024.
Announced today, the award recognises the EX30’s all-round ability and appeal, as well as Volvo Cars’ focus on sustainability in every aspect of the car’s development, design and performance.
Electrifying.com’s judging panel also bestowed the Small Family Car of the Year award on the EX30.
Ginny Buckley, Electrifying.com founder and CEO, said: “With a cool Scandi design, generous equipment levels and a price that undercuts the competition, the EX30 is a great package that we predict will be a big hit with buyers. But as the electric experts, what stands out for us most about this car is that it’s been designed and manufactured with sustainability at its heart, something that sets it apart from the pack.”
The EX30 is an object lesson in efficiency and sustainability, not just in terms of performance from its advanced battery electric powertrain, but across the car’s entire lifecycle. With the smallest carbon footprint of any Volvo car to date, it marks an important advancement in Volvo Cars’ progress towards becoming a carbon-neutral business by 2040 and having a 100% electric car range by 2030.
Nicole Melillo Shaw, Volvo Car UK Managing Director, said: “We could not have hoped for a better start for the EX30. Electrifying.com’s expert assessment of our new small fully electric SUV is much welcomed as independent validation of a fantastic car, along with the efforts we are investing in delivering real change and a more sustainable motoring future.”
Available to order now, the EX30 can travel for up to 296 miles on a single charge and offers a DC fast-charging time of just 26 minutes (10 to 80% battery charge). First UK customer deliveries are expected in early 2024.
